Where you told you needed spinal surgery?
Are you suffering from disc herniations?

Dynamic Traction Therapy is the leading gentle non-invasive, non-surgical alternative for problems caused by spinal compression. Disc herniations or bulges, "pinched nerves", and degeneration can all benefit from Dynamic Traction Therapy.

THREE PHASES OF DYNAMIC TRACTION THERAPY

PHASE 1 THE TREATMENT BEGINS

Would you like an end to your chronic neck and back pain?

Dynamic Traction works by introducing a gentle stretching to the area of concern.  Most patients have a feeling of relief. You are placed on a table, and padded straps are used to help hold you in place. You will remain fully clothed, although we recommend loose fitting clothing for optimum comfort. The treatment time ranges from 10 to 18 minutes, during which many patients fall asleep!

This gentle pressure helps to very slightly stretch the ligaments and discs in your spine. This stretching creates a negative pressure in the disc and allows fresh nutrients and blood supply to enter. The stretch is slightly increased and decreased during the treatment, creating a pumping action of the nutrients and blood.

In healthy discs this pumping occurs naturally. However, in damaged or degenerated discs it does not. We enable your body and the disc to heal itself from the inside out. This is also very important with already degenerated discs to help prevent the degeneration from continuing.

Furthermore, the gentle stretching can decrease the pressure on the disc enabling the disc bulge to help draw itself in and relieve the pain.

Current research states that spinal discs can take from 300-500 days to completely heal. Although you may be out of pain after just a few treatments, we will also teach you methods of protecting your vulnerable disc to prevent a recurrance.

During this portion of your treatment we will teach you how to keep yourself out of pain, and how to prevent this from happening in the future. We will design a stretching and strengthening program suitable for you and your specific back complaint.

This part of your treatment will focus on maintaining the strength and flexibility you have gained. Through our simple home exercises and recommendations we can work with you to prevent a relapse from occurring. Proper chiropractic care is also very important. One of the most common ways for discs to degenerate are subluxations. These chiropractic subluxations cause unnecessary wear and tear on your discs. Be sure you are checked by your chiropractor regularly to remove your subluxations.

Drs. Mike & Jenna Asks some important questions of interest to Kennett Square residents - Chiropractor Kennett Square Drs. Mike & Jenna Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
What's the purpose of a surgeon's mask?
When I ask most people in Kennett Square this, most think it protects the patient from the doctor's germs. But it's so porous it does little to prevent the passage of germs. We chiropractors don't bother with masks.
